Suwannee River Area Council
The Boy Scouts of America strives to instill in young people the principles of integrity, character, responsibility, and leadership – preparing them to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes. The Suwannee River Area Council’s goal is to provide a quality, dynamic program of learning and adventure that builds well-rounded young people. We serve thirteen counties throughout south Georgia and north Florida.
FORWARD! Is the theme of the 2023 National Jamboree, Scouting’s one-of-a-kind flagship event. It’s a gathering of tens of thousands of Scouts, leaders, and Jamboree Service Team members that showcases everything that is great about the Boy Scouts of America. The Suwannee River Area Council will be sending a contingent Scout Troop to the National Scout Jamboree consisting of a total of 40 participants. The Jamboree will take place from July 19 – 28, 2023 at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve. This fundraiser will help families cover the cost of the trip. All proceeds will directly benefit the Scout of your choice.
Core values: There are 12 principles a Boy Scout lives by which is actually considered the Scout Law. "A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent." All leaders must have and live by a set of values.
