About the Farm: This coffee comes from Cooperativa Rio Azul. The Coop currently has 282 members as of 2020. Q’anil is a coffee grown and harvested by the members of the Rio Azul Cooperativo located in Jacaltenango, deep in the Huehuetenango state of northern Guatemala. Q’anil is the name of the mountain the coffee is grown on, and also a local legend that dates back to the time of the Mayans, from whom the Jakaltenans are direct descendents.

The coop started in the late 1960's and to this day believe that the foundation of the coop allows for all members to achieve better benefits and makes it more profitable for the group to process coffee, many of whom are 2nd and 3rd generation growers.

RedEye Coffee is woman- and minority-owned. We are thrilled to be working with amazing farms and coops committed to empowering people. We proudly roast in TLH.
